Anti-aging: 5 tips to prevent wrinkles

Posted on2021-08-16

Better to prevent than to cure — don’t wait until you’re 40 to worry about wrinkles. From the age of 20–25, you should start taking care of your skin and preventing fine lines.

Discover Skineance’s 5 tips to keep your complexion fresh, youthful, and glowing for longer!

1. Keep your skin hydrated

Hydration is the first and most important step to fight the appearance of wrinkles. Moisturize your skin morning and evening with products adapted to your skin type. You can also use hydrating face masks to nourish your skin deeply. These products deliver nutrients, vitamins, and moisture to keep your epidermis supple and firm.

2. Remove makeup and cleanse your skin daily

Never skip the makeup removal and cleansing step — morning and evening.

In the morning, it removes impurities and prepares your skin for serum and day cream application.

At night, it’s essential for removing pollutants and allowing your night cream to work effectively.

3. Protect your skin from the sun

According to a study, the sun is responsible for 80% of visible skin aging.

Adopt the right habits:

  • Apply sunscreen even indoors — don’t forget the eye contour area.
  • Reapply sunscreen every two hours when exposed to sunlight.
  • Avoid sun exposure between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Prefer self-tanning products for a sun-kissed glow without UV damage.

4. Facial massage

Facial massage helps relax facial muscles and smooth fine lines. To tone your skin, try facial yoga:

  • Do U and O series to reduce wrinkles around the mouth.
  • Do Y and O movements to firm the neck.
  • Gently tap the eye contour area from the inner corner to the temples.
  • Use the edge of your hand to apply upward and outward pressure on the face.

5. Eat well, drink well, and sleep well

For younger-looking skin, maintain a balanced diet. Eat five fruits and vegetables per day, and include foods rich in antioxidants (green tea, cherries, avocados, tomatoes) and omega-3 (salmon, tuna, spinach).

External hydration through creams is essential, but internal hydration is just as important. Drink at least one liter of water per day to keep your skin plump and fresh.

Sleep also plays a key role: good rest improves your skin’s ability to repair itself. Take advantage of the night to apply your anti-aging cream.
